AL DHAFRA, 9th May 2025 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received a delegation from Etihad Rail at Al Dhanna Palace, headed by Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail.
The visit reflects H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's ongoing commitment to monitoring strategic national projects and his continued support for infrastructure development initiatives across the UAE.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the latest developments of the UAE's national railway network, one of the country's largest strategic transportation projects, which aims to connect the Emirates through a modern, safe rail system that fosters economic and social integration.
The Etihad Rail delegation presented the completed phases of the project, particularly those within the Al Dhafra region, and outlined future expansion plans, including proposed links with other GCC countries.
The presentation also highlighted the project's environmental and economic benefits, such as reducing carbon emissions and enhancing sustainability through eco-friendly transportation solutions.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed praised the efforts of the Etihad Rail team, commending their high level of professionalism and commitment to delivering this vital project in line with the highest international standards.
He underscored the project's importance in supporting comprehensive development and realising the UAE's long-term vision.
The meeting was attended by Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler's Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region, along with several other officials.
