Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 2 (ANI): Star batter Virat Kohli found himself at the centre of online chatter after several users noticed that his verified Instagram account had liked a post from a fan page dedicated to actress Avneet Kaur.
Kohli has now taken to his Instagram Story to share a short note to clear the air. In the post, the star batter, without naming anyone, stated that the like seemed to be a mistake caused by the 'app's algorithm' while he was 'clearing his feed.'
'I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,' read his Instagram Story.
Virat is currently playing in IPL 2025. During the ongoing season, the right-handed batter is sitting in third place among the highest run-scorers, with 443 runs in 10 innings at an average of 63.28, a strike rate of almost 139, and six fifties, with a best score of 73*.
His side is in second place on the table with seven wins and three losses, and they will host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at home on Saturday. CSK was the first team to be knocked out of the playoff race this week. (ANI)
