Washington [US], March 11 (ANI): Actor Robert Pattinson recalled preparing for a day of shooting opposite his co-star Zendaya in the upcoming film 'The Drama', from writer-director Kristoffer Borgli.
'We had a scene together in it that was driving me crazy,' he said about his co-star, adding, 'I was desperately looking for its meaning, to the point of writing pages and pages of textual analysis... I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene in question,' reported People.
Pattinson continued, 'I shared my doubts with her, I spoke for two hours, and blah blah blah, and after a while, very calmly, she finally made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning.'
'There I was going crazy for three days...I tend to bang my head against walls. Sometimes for no reason,' he added.
The Drama, also starring Mamoudou Athie and Alana Haim, counts Ari Aster among its producers. The romance comedy-drama 'centers on a couple whose romance takes an unexpected turn before their wedding,' as per the outlet.
The A24-distributed movie does not yet have a release date.
'The Drama' is another collaboration between A24 and Square Peg, who have previously worked on films like 'Hereditary,' 'Midsommar,' and 'Dream Scenario.' They also have upcoming projects like 'Death of a Unicorn' with Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, and 'Eddington' starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Emma Stone.
While discussing playing characters with a 'victim side,' he said, 'My character from Twilight had a bit of that... I wonder where it comes from. An unconscious need for punishment? A repressed masochistic desire?,' reported People.
'To compensate' for that, he added that his next role might be 'a character who is very self-confident.'
Pattinson, meanwhile, is making headlines for his titular role in writer-director Bong Joon Ho's sci-fi satire Mickey 17, in theaters now.
Among his upcoming projects are Lynne Ramsay's Die, My Love opposite Jennifer Lawrence, and Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey again sharing the screen with Zendaya, as well as Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o and Anne Hathaway, reported People. (ANI)
