BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.14 percent, at 3,408.31 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.67 percent higher at 13,690.88 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed marginally lower on Friday ahead of Q2 GDP data.
The benchmark S&P, BSE Sensex closed at 44,149.72, 110.02 points or 0.25 percent down compared to its previous close at 44,259.74.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended lower here on Friday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,607.59 down 4.52 points, or 0.28 percent and the Emas was at 11,542.03 down 25.61 points, or 0.22 percent.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.06 percent, or 1.66 points, to close at 2,855.82.
A total of 1.67 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.08 billion Singapore dollars (about 807.07 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 240 to 187.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 1,010.22 points on Friday, up 4.25 points, or 0.42 percent against the previous trading day.
Over 446.4 million shares worth nearly 9.9 trillion Vietnamese dong (429.1 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's stocks finished higher on Friday, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) Index up 0.65 point, or 0.1 percent, to close at 647.73 points.
Among the seven trading stocks, the price of PPSP rose by 1.91 percent to 0.39 dollar, while GTI dropped by 1.69 percent to 0.71 dollar and PWSA fell by 1.38 percent to 1.41 dollars.

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market finished lower on Friday as the major banks and miners weighed, but still managed to rise 0.90 percent for the week.
At the market close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was down 35.30 points or 0.53 percent at 6,601.10, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 32.00 points or 0.47 percent at 6,816.80.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stock market's indicator, the S&P/NZX 50 index, jumped by 0.3 percent to 12,640 on Friday.
The jump was led by Me Today Limited, which went up by 7.14 percent to 0.075 NZ dollars (0.053 U.S. dollars), while Blackwell Global Holdings Limited dropped by 7.14 percent to 0.013 NZ dollars.
