BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.14 percent, at 3,408.31 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.67 percent higher at 13,690.88 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 725.7 billion yuan (about 110.36 billion U.S. dollars), declining from 733.3 billion yuan the previous trading day.
The aquaculture, banking and securities sectors were among the biggest winners, with shares of CNFC Overseas Fisheries Co., Ltd. rising by the daily limit of 10 percent to 6.7 yuan per share.
Bucking the upward trend, stocks related to organic silicon and rare earth reported heavy losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.37 percent to close at 2,618.99 points.
