BEIJING, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MOSCOW -- Russia has registered a new single-day record of 27,543 coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 2,215,533, the country's COVID-19 response center said Friday.

TOKYO -- The Japanese government said on Friday that a new round of coronavirus antibody tests on some 15,000 people will be finished by the end of this year, as the government seeks to better grasp the scale of the pandemic's spread in the country.
Health Minister Norihisa Tamura told a press conference that the tests will take place in Tokyo, Osaka and three other prefectures including Miyagi, Aichi and Fukuoka.

WASHINGTON -- Walt Disney Co. on Thursday unveiled its plan to shed about 32,000 employees, up from previously announced 28,000 job cuts in September, as the COVID-19 pandemic takes a heavy toll on its theme park businesses.
The redundancies will take place in the first half of 2021, most of which will come in the company's theme park division, according to the entertainment giant's filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia reported 26 more COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the nationwide count to 738, said the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD).
The latest confirmed cases were all locally transmitted, Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the NCCD's surveillance department, said at a daily press conference.

BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland on Thursday reported no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, with five newly confirmed cases all arriving from outside, the National Health Commission said Friday.
Three new imported cases were reported in Shanghai, and one each in Fujian and Shaanxi Thursday, the commission said in its daily report.
No new suspected cases or new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported.
